WELCOME TO GERALDINE EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION
Geraldine Doe-Sherif Empowerment Foundation is a registered 501c(3) nonprofit organization in the United States (EIN 46-2479412) as well as registered N.G.O in Liberia. The foundation’s vision is nothing less than the transformation of lives of women and children from hopeless, suffering victims of societal inequalities into productive members of communities with an exciting vision for a better Liberia and a better world. We believe that anyone anywhere can help to change these lives through the care provided by the Geraldine Doe-Sherif Empowerment Foundation as a direct result of the support of goodwill and philanthropic individuals and donor organizations.
We offer more than just food, clothing, and shelter; we offer education, employment skills, and legal advice/representation, especially for victimized women of domestic violence. Our ultimate aim is for the women and children to be self-supporting as we begin implementing various alternative livelihood projects and receive renewable support from people around the globe.
Combined with the skills and participation of local and international partner organizations and volunteers, the Geraldine Doe-Sherif Empowerment Foundation offers unique opportunities for both volunteers and beneficiaries to make a lasting, life changing difference in each other’s lives.
GDSEF directly works with women in offering support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency.
The Geraldine Doe-Sherif Empowerment Foundation strongly needs charity donations for purposes such as:
We depend on your good will.
Along with sister organizations, we provide the opportunity for volunteers from around the world to make a difference in Liberia. Opportunities are provided for volunteers to spend time tutoring and playing with children in homes, visiting sponsored children, providing palliative care for sick children, teaching in local schools, working at the local hospital or clinic, and/or working in community education. Other volunteer opportunities are also available upon request. Volunteers also have the opportunity to work with vulnerable women who are victims of domestic and other violence. Interacting with them, hearing their stories, engaging them during training and other sessions, getting oriented in their cultures are few of the memorable moments volunteers can expect during their time in Liberia.
